Aaron grew up in a Christian home and gave his life to Christ at the age of ten, but never truly understood what that relationship meant until many years later. Without a firm foundation to his faith, he strayed from God as he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin: Eau Claire, and pursued a career in acting. However, God demonstrated His faithfulness by getting Aaron’s full attention when he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Broadcaster at the age of 28. While stationed at his first assignment in South Korea, a Chaplain preached a sermon in “fluent Aaron Loy” that changed his life forever!
The following season was Aaron’s self-described “sponging” years where over the course of four years he grew in faith, pursued opportunities to serve in the local
church, and felt the call to full-time ministry. After the
military, he served as a Church-Planting Catalyst for e3 Partners Ministries for three years while also obtaining a Master’s Degree in Christian Studies from Denver Seminary. As Aaron prepared for a life of cross-cultural ministry in Japan, God used a series of events and relationships to redirect him and his family to GodSquad Church.
Currently, Aaron serves as the Discipleship Pastor of GSC and is passionate about fostering an environment where Disciples Make Disciples! He oversees the EXP Groups, Devotional Team, GodTalk Team, and is continually developing discipleship tools, resources, and programs for the church.
Aaron is married to his beautiful wife, Hannah, and has one daughter, Sapphira. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, singing, watching anime, and streaming RPG and Adventure games on Twitch!
